How to Use This Alarm Clock

Set the time using the hour and minute controls. Tap the up/down arrows to adjust, or click any of the common alarm times below the picker. A 12-hour AM/PM label updates automatically so you can confirm the time at a glance.

Choose your sound. There are 7 alarm tones — Classic, Gentle, Urgent, Digital, Bell, Chime, and Pulse. Click the Test button to preview how each one sounds before committing. Each tone uses a different frequency, waveform, and rhythm so you can find one that suits you.

Pick your snooze duration. The default is 5 minutes, but you can choose 1, 10, 15, or 30 minutes. When the alarm rings and you click Snooze, a new alarm is automatically set for that many minutes later.

Activate the alarm by clicking "Set Alarm". A progress bar and countdown appear showing exactly how long until the alarm rings. The browser tab title updates with the countdown, so you can see it from other tabs.

When the alarm fires, the selected tone plays repeatedly and the display shows a ringing animation. Click Dismiss to stop it, or Snooze to postpone by your chosen duration. If you've allowed browser notifications, one will appear too.

Fullscreen mode turns the alarm into a bedside clock — ideal for naps or when you want the time visible from a distance. The alarm still rings in fullscreen.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the alarm ring if I switch to another tab?

Yes. The alarm runs in the background using JavaScript and the Web Audio API, which continues to function when the tab is not focused. On most desktop browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari), the sound will play even from a background tab. The tab title also shows a countdown so you can monitor it at a glance.

Will it work if my computer goes to sleep?

No. When your computer enters sleep mode, all browser processes pause, including this alarm. For wake-up alarms from sleep, use your phone's built-in clock app. This online alarm is best suited for timed reminders, nap alarms, and alerts while you are actively using your computer.

Why can't I hear the alarm sound?

Make sure your system volume is not muted and that your browser allows audio. Most browsers require a user interaction (like clicking "Set Alarm") before they will play sound — this alarm handles that automatically. You can also click the Test button to verify audio works with your current setup.

What happens if I close the page accidentally?

The alarm saves its settings (time, tone, label, snooze duration) to your browser's local storage. If you return to the page before the alarm was supposed to ring, a restore banner appears so you can reactivate it with one click.

Can I set multiple alarms at the same time?

Yes — open this page in multiple browser tabs and set a different alarm in each. Every tab runs its own independent alarm with its own sound and snooze settings. This is useful when you need reminders at different times during the day.

Can I change the snooze length?

Yes. Before setting your alarm, choose a snooze duration from the options: 1, 5, 10, 15, or 30 minutes. When the alarm rings and you tap Snooze, a new alarm is automatically scheduled for that many minutes later, using the same sound and label.
